Privacy Policy

My Roux, Inc.(“Roux,” “we,” “us”) builds a personal styling app that helps you see, organize, and get the most out of the clothes you already own. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to make Roux work for you — and we never sell your data.

Information you give us

  • Account details — your name, email address, and a password (stored securely, never in plain text), or the basic profile information from your Google account if you choose “Continue with Google.”
  • Your closet — the clothing and accessories you add, along with details like brand, size, color, fabric, photos, and notes.
  • Photos — images you upload or capture of your garments. We may process them to remove backgrounds and present items cleanly.
  • Messages to Margaux — what you ask our styling assistant, so it can respond and improve your suggestions.

Information we access with your permission

  • Email (order confirmations) — if you connect an inbox, we read it to find purchase and order-confirmation emails and turn them into closet items automatically. From those emails we extract details about your purchases, which may include the items and brands you bought, sizes, prices and order dates, and the shipping/billing address on the order. For Gmail we use Google’s secure API; for Yahoo, AOL, and similar providers we connect using an app-specific password you generate. We look only for shopping-related messages and do not read or store unrelated email.
  • Calendar (optional) — if you connect your calendar, we read upcoming events so Margaux can suggest outfits for what’s ahead. We use only event titles, times, and locations, and never change your calendar.
  • Approximate location (optional) — a coarse, city-level location to tailor suggestions to your weather. We do not track precise or continuous location.

Google user data & Limited Use

Roux’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically: we use Gmail and Google Calendar data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above; we do not transfer or sell this data; we do not use it for advertising; and humans do not read it except where you explicitly ask for support, where required for security or to comply with the law, or on data that has been aggregated and anonymized. We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI models.

How we use your information

  • To build and display your closet and power styling suggestions.
  • To resolve the items you own to real product information (brand, name, image).
  • To run Margaux, our AI stylist, and answer your questions.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the service and respond to support requests.

Service providers we share with

We share data only with vendors that help us run Roux, under contracts that limit their use to providing services to us:

  • Supabase — secure authentication, database, and image storage.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — the AI that powers Margaux. Relevant context (such as items and your question) is sent to generate a response; it is not used to train Anthropic’s models.
  • Google — sign-in, and Gmail/Calendar access you authorize.
  • Product-catalog and image services — to match your items to real products and imagery.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete items at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data — see below.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, secure storage, and access controls. Any email app-password you provide for a Yahoo, AOL, or other IMAP inbox is used only to perform the import you request and is not retained afterward. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information.

Your choices & rights

  • Access, correct, or delete your closet data inside the app.
  • Disconnect a linked email or calendar at any time; you may also revoke Google access at your Google Account permissions.
  • Request full deletion of your account and data by emailing us.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as under GDPR or CCPA); contact us to exercise them.

Children

Roux is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
